It’s been a while but the new showreel is up.
It’s an odd experience reviewing the footage from the last 5 years ( the last showreel was edited in late 2017) but definite themes and preoccupations are appearing in the work. In fact, it gives me a sense of where the work is heading and what I am drawn to…

Super pleased to have been commissioned by Locate East Sussex to create a headline film showing the business opportunities and benefits of moving or setting up a business in East Sussex.
This main film will be accompanied by five additional films covering the districts and boroughs that make up East Sussex - Hastings, Rother, Wealden, Eastboure and Lewes.
Such a diverse range of businesses across an extraordinarily beautiful and varied county. Lets go!
So lockdown has been an opportunity to throw myself into a few projects that I probably wouldn’t have had time to work on.
Its been invigorating and exciting, particularly helping my mum’s oldest, best friend get online and bring her own special brand of cooking to the internet….cookalongs, how-to’s, live streaming….it’s been a refreshing challenge to immerse myself in aspects of film and video that I rarely touch on….and with a great character leading the charge.
Out with Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, again. This time at Wimbledon. Although the tournament is closed it was the perfect location to bring together some of London’s key workers who have so valiantly seen the capital through the first wave of the Covid pandemic.
It was a great day and the mayor encouraged these key workers to keep going as we aren’t out of the woods yet.
Myself and some filmmaker friends got together at our local photographic studio to road test our Covid 19 shooting guidelines.
It was an interesting experience. Definitely adds complexity and time but it’s workable. Lets lean in and get shooting again 😊👍
Lockdown has been both a challenging and interesting time.
The majority of our commercial and content work dried up by the first week of March. In fact, work was being cancelled at the beginning of February - regular client BCG had commissioned some films at the huge MWC conference in Barcelona which got pulled. This was the first sign that things could get pretty bad.
By late February things weren’t looking too great but a relationship struck up with Michael Crick whilst making a film about Brexit led to filming and editing his weekly news show, the Crick Report, for Mail Plus.
Over the course of five weeks we covered a number of stories including Amazon’s growing stranglehold on the UK consumer, whether Boris’s Johnsons government could deliver on its manifesto commitments given emergency corona-virus spending, and the difficulties charities faced raising money during lockdown. Michael was great to work with - an incredibly experienced journalist, he can turn out a cogent and engaging story in hours - and the opportunity to travel in and around London as lockdown deepened was southing else and a visual experience I will never forget. The picture below shows Whitehall and the Cenotaph all but deserted…the centre of one of the worlds great global cities about as busy as a village green on a weekday!
