I am a great fan of The Kernel Brewery and their beers. As a recent convert and intrigued by the brewing process I approached the brewery to see if they might be interested in a film.
Working with Master Brewer and owner, Evin O'Riordain, I came up with a brief that tried to avoid the conventions of corporate promos where 'message' and heightened emotion are paramount. Instead, the aim was to create a portrait of the brewery and the people that worked in it, and that this would communicate the expertise and passion that the Kernel Brewery embodies.
